Blue Wave

Towering from floor to ceiling, this sculptural installation captures the raw, fleeting energy of a crashing wave—frozen mid-motion in delicate Kozo lace. Hand-processed and dyed with indigo, the wave is built from hundreds of interlaced fibers, each holding the tension and fluidity of water in motion.

Behind it rises a sheet of pure white abaca fiber, serene and still, its base gently dipped in blue. This backdrop serves as both contrast and continuation—a horizon line, a still sea, a breath between surges.

Blue Wave explores the chaotic beauty of natural forces through the labor-intensive craft of hand papermaking and dyeing. It's a moment suspended: powerful, ephemeral, and deeply textured.
